Microbus' strategic alliance with Carnation Designs has been recognised as a winning combination by Merseyside Police, securing a three year contract to provide in-vehicle mobile data and auxiliary electronics control for the force's fleet. The joint venture combines Microbus' rugged M-PC3 in-vehicle computer with Carnation Design’s genisys electronic management system, creating the first comprehensive solution specifically developed for in-vehicle data and electronics management.
Following a competitive tendering process, the combined Microbus/Carnation Designs system was chosen for its unprecedented ease-of-use and user-programmable capabilities. The M-PC3’s unique Event Processor software architecture puts control of all auxiliary electronics at the user’s fingertips, allowing them to activate all the required vehicle equipment for a given operational mode at the touch of a single button.
The M-PC3 computer’s multi-bearer flexibility also provides officers with remote access to the police national computer (PNC) as well as other national and local databases. This will prove to be vital in gaining greater efficiency, allowing officers to retrieve information quickly and easily while on patrol rather than spending valuable time returning to the office.
Richard Blake, Sales & Marketing Director at Microbus comments, “We are very pleased that Merseyside Police has chosen Microbus and Carnation as their technology partners and we feel sure that the M-PC3’s processing power and operational flexibility will validate their decision in providing rugged reliability and low cost of ownership.”
