London Ambulance Service NHS Trust This is an excerpt from the BBC’s ‘Trauma’ programme featuring Microbus computers in use by London Ambulance. The special documentary profiling the daily working of St. Thomas’ Hospital in London, featured footage of London Ambulance crews responding to various incidents and showed how Microbus in-vehicle computers are helping to improve response times, providing incident data and patient information for paramedics at the scene. In addition, London Ambulance has recently won Computerworld’s ‘Best Practices in Mobile & Wireless’ Award. In the ‘Innovations and Promise Category,’ London Ambulance’s mobile data project was identified and considered by a panel of IT, mobile and wireless industry professionals which looked at its IT department‘s mobile and wireless challenges. Microbus M-PC In-vehicle computers, equipped with dual-GPRS, dual-GSM and WLAN, were a major part of their innovative and successful application deployment.
